Number & Place Value

Year 1 maths builds strong number sense as the foundation for all future learning:

  • Count to and across 100, forwards and backwards from any number
  • Read, write and order numbers using numerals and words
  • Use the = sign, and understand > and < symbols to compare numbers
  • Understand and apply number bonds to 10 and 20
